Sun Kissed Vineyard on the Adriatic Shore
Have you ever been to Adriatic side of Italy? Antica Enotria is a perfect place to start your trip to Puglia – a region with average 2600 hours of the sunshine per year. The blessing of the Sun and proximity to the sea multiplied by knowledge, passion, and experience of Di Tuccio family together result in the perfect balance among sugar, tannins, and acidity in grapes of local most favorable varietals – Negroamaro, Nero di Troia, and surprisingly, Primitivo. The vineyard strectches for several kilometers from the winery almost right to the sea.
Antica Enotria Principles of Ogranic Farming
Ever since the founder of the winery, Raffaele Di Tuccio, got to know about organic practices, he has been always following the principles of organic winemaking. This is the complex approach which applies not only to winemaking but also to cherry-like tomatoes which are later used for self-made sauses by the Di Tuccio family receipt and artichokes, aubergines, and olive – perfect base for typical Apulian preserves. No pesticides, no GMO, honest work, only handpicking harvest – nowadays Raffael’s son Luigi and his wife Valentina continue to promote the idea of sustainable approach in agriculture and winemaking. As Raffaelle once said:
Listen to the breath of Earth and follow its rhythm
Award Winning Winery
Small family Puglian estate has been distinguished by a number of national and international awards. For example, German Wine Award organisation MUNDUS Vini marks with Silver the flagman of the winery’s red wines – Nero di Troia IGT Puglia. Slow Wine Award comittee stresses upon the input of Antica Enotria in sustainable winemaking in several categories, particularly the one related to preserving terroir – local traditions, geographical features, and knowledge of generations.”
