Surrounded by the arch of Puglia and charmed by the beauty of the Ionian Sea, the Soloperto winery is located in Manduria. The city has always been a land of Primitivo vines, grown in the sapling vineyards that draw a magnificent countryside. Today, the third and fourth generation of the winemaking family has been running the estate with great passion and love for ancestral traditions.

About the Wine making Family

In the 1900s, a story of Soloperto breaks out, which is still being preserved by the Soloperto family. Founded as the bulk wine estate by the ancestors, they knew the land and terroirs have the potential to produce high-quality wines. Later in the late 60s, Giovanni Soloperto bottled the first Primitivo in a small wine cellar.

The Soloperto family owns the best plots of vineyards dedicated to the cultivation of a vast array of grapes. These parcels are the historic crus of Primitivo vine – some of them are over a hundred years old. In the Bagnolo district, you can find the oldest Primitivo vineyard from where the estate produces high-end Centofuochi PDO.

Besides, some land is for the cultivation of fruity Verdaca and Chardonnay, along with White Bombino.

Winery with Innovative Processes

As time goes by, Sabrina and Ernesto, has brought innovative and state-of-the-art technology in the wine production processes. The dedication to continuing the family’s work can be witnessed in the new structure. Wooden barrels, made from French oak and stainless steel tanks are used to keep wines for ageing and refining. The Primitivo has always been the flagship wine of the company, accompanied by top-class Negroamaro PGI, Locorotondo DOP, and Martina Franca DOP.
