Bodega Nietos de Senora Maria is a family winery run by four grandsons of Mrs. Maria. Located in the region of Sierra de Gredos in the Alto Aberche, the place is being recovered because the vineyards present here are ancient and of superior quality. Vine cultivation here is going on since the eleventh century. Natural and ecological processes ensure the safety of the environment.
Their first vineyard is the Fuente Seca. The land is almost three hectares and is around fifty to seventy years old. They use natural manure as fertilizers and take care of each crop individually to ensure quality. The workers collect the grapes from the vineyards manually. Grapes that have proper maturation are only selected. Anything that can affect the quality of the wine is undoubtedly removed. Mud and stainless steel tanks help in the process of fermentation. Ageing takes place until the wine reaches the perfect balance and taste. The winery tries to produce unique wines that show the work, history, and tradition of their region.
The region has a sandy terrain surrounded by rosemary, lavender, and Mediterranean lands. The area has a varying climate and high altitudes perfect for the vines. Almost seven hectares of vineyards are there under Cerebros Protected Designation Of Origin. The main variety of grape produced here is the Garnacha that goes into making red wine. It has a pleasant aroma, high acidity, and a great complexion. The winery keeps its wines utterly natural without any additives.
