Grape Varieties at the Winery Include Toro Tinta and Garnacha
The vineyards of Bodegas Iturria Winery are located in Morales de Toro at an altitude of 700 meters, and the vines are from 20 to 60 years old and ungrafted. The vineyard covers an area of 5 hectares in clay, lime, and sandy soil. The varieties of grape which are cultivated here are Toro Tinta and Garnacha. They do not use any herbicides in the fields and care about the land to ensure sustainability. The grapes are hand-harvested and transported gently to the winery for processing. Bodegas Iturria uses only native yeast from the vineyard for fermentation which they believe produces superior red wines.
