Family-run winery in Castilla y León, dedicated to crafting exceptional wines.
The Rodero Family Tradition
Bodegas Rodero was founded by Carmelo Rodero, a member of a long line of winemakers from the picturesque town of Pedrosa de Duero. Growing up surrounded by vineyards, Carmelo developed a passion for winemaking early on. Together with his wife, Elena, they set out to create outstanding wines from local grape varieties. Their dedication has earned the winery numerous awards, both locally and internationally. Today, Carmelo's daughters, Maria and Beatriz, have joined the family business, continuing the legacy of quality winemaking.
Ideal Conditions for Viticulture
Spanning 140 hectares, the vineyards of Bodegas Rodero are strategically planted to optimize the diverse soils and enhance grape quality. With an average age of 30 years, these vineyards thrive in the Ribera del Duero region's climate, characterized by dry summers and long winters. The unique calcareous clay soils, combined with careful vineyard management, ensure the production of high-quality grapes.
Innovative Winemaking Techniques
Bodegas Rodero specializes in crafting red wines using Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes. The winery combines traditional methods with modern technology, employing a patented winemaking system that gently handles grapes using gravity instead of pumps. This innovative approach results in a collection of wines that range from young and vibrant to mature and sophisticated, showcasing both structure and elegance.
