Château de Bellevue, located in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné,
dates back to 1894, when Hippolyte TIJOU became the owner. Since
the first harvest in 1897, 5 generations have succeeded one another.
Today, Anne and Hervé TIJOU continue the work begun by Hippolyte.
Today, the vineyard covers 35 hectares, nestled at the top of a hillside
overlooking both the Loire and Layon rivers. The unique nature of
Château de Bellevue and its wines lies in the incredible diversity of its
terroirs. CHENIN BLANC and CABERNET FRANC are the most produced grapes for the wines.
Château de Bellevue is surrounded by vines, and its name “Bellevue”
suggests the splendid spectacle, with its 4 hectares of parkland
offering a distant view of the surrounding vineyards, up to 35 kms
away.
“Through our various wine tourism services we aim to pass on the
family tradition as well as our passion to the curious who wish to
discover the wines of Anjou.”
