The Gitton Family has been cultivating grapes at Domaine Gitton since 1945, focusing on the finest terroir in the Loire Valley. For over four decades, the estate has exclusively sold wines crafted and aged on-site, reaching wine lovers in more than 30 countries. This family-run winery is celebrated for its commitment to tradition and the unique characteristics of its land, with each generation passing down the knowledge that shapes their exceptional wines.
From Half a Hectare to 33 Hectares of Vineyard
Domaine Gitton's vineyards span 33 hectares, featuring diverse soils such as Kimmeridgian marl, flint, and limestone from the Portlandian and Hauterivian eras. With an average vine age of 45 years, the estate captures the true essence of Sauvignon Blanc from the region. Each cuvée is crafted with care, reflecting the nuances of its specific plot. From the fruity Les Montachins Sancerre, fermented in stainless steel, to the oak-aged Belles Dames with its distinctive gun-flint aroma, every wine tells its own story.
Diverse Grapes from Diverse Terroir
The vineyard at Domaine Gitton is home to high-quality, hand-tended grapes. Located in the Sancerre and Ménétréol municipalities, 23 hectares are dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc, while 4 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir for red and rosé wines. The winery is just 10 kilometers from its vines in the Pouilly Fumé and Côteaux du Giennois regions. This meticulous approach ensures that each bottle reflects the exceptional flavor and quality that wine enthusiasts appreciate.
