Organic Wines of Domaine FL Flirting with Elegance
Dotted by lush countryside, Fournier Longchamps is a family-owned wine estate based in Rochefort Sur Loire’s certified wine region, within close range of Béhuard and Angers. Today, the vineyards are extended over 39 hectares in the scenic towns of Savennières and Loire. Apart from producing top-quality wines, the winery features a seminar room, perfect for weddings and private events.
The Story Initiated by Father and Son
Established in 2007 by Julien Fournier, the estate got its name from the owner’s parents’ surnames, Fournier and Longchamps. Respecting the region’s 800 years old winemaking techniques, Julien and father Philippe follow traditional methods improved with innovation. The ancient half of Domaine FL, Château de Chamboureau, was acquired by Philippe in 2006 from Jo Pithon. The family then decided to expand its wine business and launched Fournier Longchamp Estate.
Fertile Terroirs Offer Balanced Complexity
Savennières is a small wine region with around 145 hectares stretched over Angers and the Loire River. The vineyards owned by Domaine FL are planted with unique Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Only organic methods are practiced in the fields. During the harvesting, the team picks berries with hands, followed by soft pressing. They use stainless steel tanks and wooden vats for optimal refining and aging.
