A family affair since 1636
Since 1636, the Château du Petit Thouars has been passed from father to son in a direct line. There have always been vines on the property and we are delighted to continue this proud tradition, growing and producing Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc wines, in our last year of organic conversion, in the AOC CHINON.
We are happy to marry both wine and food in several of our tours at the property, where guests have the opportunity to visit our vines and cellar, and then choose tastings that involve food, picnics, or even a visit of the ground floor of the château.
Visitors are welcomed most warmly by the current Count and Countess du Petit Thouars, 12-generation family members. You might also even meet our friendly cat Biscuit, who loves a walk in the vines!
