Since 1636, the Château du Petit Thouars has been passed from father to son in a direct line. There have always been vines on the property and we are delighted to continue this proud tradition, growing and producing Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc wines, in our last year of organic conversion, in the AOC CHINON.
We are happy to marry both wine and food in several of our tours at the property, where guests have the opportunity to visit our vines and cellar, and then choose tastings that involve food, picnics, or even a visit of the ground floor of the château.
Visitors are welcomed most warmly by the current Count and Countess du Petit Thouars, 12-generation family members. You might also even meet our friendly cat Biscuit, who loves a walk in the vines!

Superb winery. Sebastián is incredibly knowledgeable and speaks perfect English. The chinon here is richly varied and a tasting is highly recommended. It was wonderful that our kids could roam freely while we enjoyed the wine. A memorable visit.

A very interesting tour, a very nice place, a nice tasting and a little picnic at a small isolated table, in front of a beautiful view of the vineyards, with delicious fresh and local products. A very nice discovery!
