Clement Et Matthieu Weck: A Commitment to Sustainability
Located in the picturesque village of Gueberschwihr, Alsace, Clement Et Matthieu Weck is a family-owned winery with a rich history dating back to the 18th century. The Weck family embraces a unique philosophy: they believe they do not inherit the land from their ancestors but borrow it from future generations. This perspective drives their commitment to sustainable and organic farming practices.
A Passion for Quality Winemaking
Matthieu Weck, the current owner, dedicates his time to nurturing the vineyard. He emphasizes that exceptional wines can only be crafted from the finest grapes. To achieve this, Matthieu employs rigorous quality controls and eco-friendly cultivation methods. The winery prioritizes manual labor over machinery to protect the soil's integrity. Since 2010, Matthieu has exclusively used organic products, eliminating insecticides from the winemaking process.
A Diverse Selection of Wines
Alsace is renowned for its exquisite white wines, and Clement Et Matthieu Weck offers a remarkable range under the AOC Alsace, Grand Cru Goldert, and Vendange Tardive labels. The winery produces a variety of grape varietals, including Riesling, Sylvaner, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Gewurztraminer. In addition to their celebrated whites, visitors can also enjoy a selection of reds, rosés, sweet wines, and sparkling Crémant d’Alsace, affectionately known as “Love Bubbles.”
