Cleto Chiarli, In the Heart of Emilia-Romagna

Surrounded by lush vineyards and mesmerizing countryside, the Cleto Chiarli Winery is locatds in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy. The estate stretches over an area of 50 hectares, dedicated to Lambrusco cultivation. It situates a short drive away from an ancient village of Castelvetro di Modena. An old Villa Cialdini, enriched with history, locates in the heart of the town and dates back to the 18th century.

Devoted to the Production of Lambrusco

Cleto Chiarli shifted to Modena away from the countryside, along with his wife and children in 1850. Ten years later, he stopped working as an innkeeper and devoted himself to the production of Lambrusco. During the spring of 1944, the devastating bombing in Modena carried out by Allied Powers destroyed the winery. But two years later, Giovanni and Giorgio reestablished the estate. In the early 70s, Mauro and Anselmo, members of the fourth generation, took over the company. With constant hard work and dedication of many families, Cleto Chiarli Winery produces over 20 million bottles of wines in 2000. In 2003, the owners established a new winery, dedicated to their great-grandfather, with the Cleto Chiarli label.
