Domaine de Grimardy in Beautiful Bergerac

The Domaine de Grimardy is located on an exceptional terroir in a beautiful part of Bergerac, France. We acquired it in 2021. For us, the wine remains above all a great passion. We needed the terroir and we found it in Montazeau in the center of Montravel appellation to create our organic wines.

The estate is organic agriculture certified since 2013. We create very aromatic wines, thanks to the biodiversity of our plots and our environment. All weeding products are biodegradable and only applied to alternate rows. In the remaining rows, the grass is allowed to grow naturally and is cut on a regular basis. The balance of the soil is regularly analyzed and the leaves on the east side are thinned out during the summer months.

The Terroir of Montravel

Our soils are clay-limestone with hard limestone and marls with Hostra (fossilized oysters) and on some plots of flint. The altitude is 80 meters to 115 meters on the plateaus. Most plots have north and south exposure for optimal sunshine. The winery offers red, white, and rosé wines. The main varieties of grapes used in their wines include Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillion.
