The history of this Domaine dates back to 1990. Etienne Jadeau set up the vineyard. It locates just a few kilometers away from the banks of the river Loire. The Domaine situates between two rivers, the Layon, and the Aubance. The vineyards cover an area of 21 hectares. The vineyards of Anjou are at the northern limit of viticulture in France, in a mild Atlantic climate. The soils that shape the types of wine grown in this region are varied. In Tuffeau appellation, it consists of limestone. In Anjou appellation, it consists of shale or clay, gravel, and sand.
The Anjou region has several varieties of soils such as Chenin, Groslot, Pineau and more. Other famous grape varieties are Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, Gamay. The number of grape varieties gives the region a wealth of choices. They allow the development of many different appellations – white and rosé, light or full-bodied red and sparkling wines. One of their wines is excellent red Anjou 2013. The terroir is gravel and sand. The maceration process is of 10 days. They age the wine in vast for 10 months.
