Experience 1000 Wooden Barrels for Aging and Refining Exceptional Wines
Domaine Skouras: A Gem in Nemea's Appellation
Domaine Skouras is nestled in the renowned Nemea appellation in northeastern Peloponnese, Greece. This winery began as a small venture focused on quality and has grown into a respected name in the wine industry. The vineyards thrive in fertile soils across Nemea, Mantinia, Argolida, and Korinth, producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
Founded in 1986, Domaine Skouras has a rich history in winemaking.
Architectural Beauty Meets Winemaking Tradition
With a winemaking heritage spanning over 3000 years, Argos is a fitting location for Domaine Skouras. George Skouras, the founder, honed his skills in France, Italy, and Greece before establishing the winery in 1986 on the outskirts of Argos. The boutique winery in Nemea was built next to the vineyards of Megas Oenos, the first wine produced by Mr. Skouras. In 2004, a new winery was constructed in Malandreni, showcasing Greek architectural style and modern infrastructure, where traditional and contemporary viticulture methods come together to create exceptional wines.
Diverse Grape Varieties for Unique Flavors
At Domaine Skouras, Agiorgitiko is the flagship grape variety, but the winery also cultivates a diverse selection of both local and international grapes. These include Moscofilero, Merlot, Viognier, and Chardonnay. In certain regions of Argolida, high-quality Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc are also grown. The winery emphasizes quality by handpicking grapes, ensuring that only the finest bunches are selected for winemaking.
