Fuentes del Silencio Winery, Located in “the Town of Fountains,”” Herreros de Jamuz
Owned by two retired doctors, Miguel Angel Alonso and his wife, Fuentes del Silencio Winery is located in “the Town of Fountains” called Herreros de Jamuz. The owners of Fuentes del Silencio Winery replanted old vineyards honoring the surrounding natural beauty of the region. They decide to use both traditional and modern viticulture practices and planted indigenous grape varietals. At Fuentes del Silencio, only eco-friendly processes are used, keeping in mind the ecological balance of the environment.
The old structure of the Fuentes del Silencio Winery dates back to the 1900s and has recently been revived in new form.
The old structure of the winery, dating back to the 1900s, was initially owned by Miguel’s predecessors. Using old family traditions, Miguel has established a new winery at Fuentes del Silencio, in an old home. He also took it upon himself to rejuvenate the centuries-old vineyards using the latest vine cultivation techniques. The estate deeply expresses the history and culture of the winemaking family. Fuentes del Silencio Winery has also joined a non-profit organization, Grandes Pagos de España, that brought 29 wineries from all over Spain together.
