The Historic Giacobazzi Winery in Modena

Established in 1958, Giacobazzi Winery is a cherished family-owned estate located in the heart of Modena. This historic winery invites visitors to savor its renowned Lambrusco wines, paired with traditional Emilia-Romagna cuisine. A visit to Giacobazzi is not just about wine; it's about experiencing the rich heritage of the region.

A Family Legacy Reclaimed

After a challenging period from 1991 to 1996, when the winery was sold to the Caldirola Group, the Giacobazzi family returned to their roots in 2014. Antonio Giacobazzi reclaimed the winery, revitalizing it with the help of his sons. Today, Giacobazzi wines are enjoyed in countries around the globe, including the United States and China. The winery also has strong ties to sports, notably with Modena FC and the late Canadian racing driver Gilles Villeneuve.

Award-Winning Wines to Savor

Giacobazzi Winery cultivates 100% Modena vines across diverse soils in the region. The estate grows a variety of grapes, including Lambrusco Sorbara, Lambrusco Grasparossa, and Pignoletto. These grapes are the foundation for a wide selection of exquisite red, white, and rosé wines, along with celebrated dessert and sparkling wines. Each bottle reflects the unique terroir of Emilia-Romagna, making Giacobazzi a must-visit for wine enthusiasts.

Feb 2025. We've actually been here 3 times now, (purely for research of course ha ha). We're on first name terms with the staff now. The range, quality and price of the wines is brilliant. Giacobazzi 2 is my favourite, for a summers day BBQ it would go well with everything. See you in April. Absolutely BRILLIANT!. Probably one of the best little tours available. The young girl who showed us around was a credit to the company, she was bubbly and efficient plus she had to cope with English and Spanish translations. The wine produced and sold is of excellent quality and a brilliant price. Add to that the families association with Ferrari/ Gilles Villeneuve and it brings another bonus. The wine museum traces the production and bottling etc of wine over the years and was really informative. If I could of given more than 5 stars I would have. Highly recommended. Oh and the cost of the tour..I showed the people with me the price for all three of us and they though the price was per person! Well done Giacobazzi family.

I visited this museum cellar on the occasion of the Wefood 2024 event. The girl who welcomed us was simply fantastic: professional, but at the same time it seemed like we were talking to an "old" friend. The museum is really worth a visit, my children never wanted to go home! Excellent wine tasting...we will be back!

A wonderful visit to the great work involved in making Lambrusco, something totally unknown, and the spectacular results offered by the traditional method. A very interesting journey through the world of the Giacobazzi family and their collecting passions, so you can get an idea of what the instruments of the time were like and their development to date. The guide is very friendly and tells it with a lot of passion. Sierre with a tasting and with your mouth full of explosive and delicious flavors.
