The Vision of Kapito Cellar
Founded in 2019, Kapito Cellar is dedicated to preserving and promoting the unique grape varieties of the Kartli region. Our mission is to revive endangered local grapes such as Jvari, Ghrubela, Mukhamtsvane, Melikuda, and Kumsmtevana. By focusing on these traditional varieties, we aim to showcase the rich heritage of Georgian winemaking.
The Winery Today
As of 2023, we have cultivated a 2-hectare vineyard featuring Danakharuli, Shavkapito, Jvari, and Ghrubela grapes. In addition to our wines, we also grow Georgian wheat varieties, including Tavtukhi and Tsiteli Doli. Our commitment to sustainable practices ensures that we produce high-quality wines while respecting the environment and local traditions.
