A charming winery in Naoussa was always in the mind of Tassos Karagiozidis
a business executive in Germany, he became homesick and returned to his birthplace to complete his father's vision.
Today, in a 10-acre vineyard in Naoussa he established a very modern winery with high-level specifications, which now produces 80,000 bottles of wine per year.
A winery open to visit, with dining, tasting and meeting spaces, available for weddings, christenings and other events. There, if you are lucky in your visit,
you will hear him playing his bouzouki for gatherings and friends.
THE VINEYARDS
are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming. They are located in Greece, Central Macedonia (NAOUSSA) and on the slopes of the Vermion Mountains.
The locations: Fytia, Giannakochori, Naoussa, and Angelochori.
The cultivated area is 7 hectares.
Kappa Winery fills approx. 80-90,000 bottles in 12 labels.
They are divided into
- Entry level wines (Rythmos series, stainless steel tank fermentation and direct bottling)
- Wines with fermentation and maturation in wooden barrels
- Wines with controlled fermentation in stainless steel fermentation tanks and 12-18 months maturation in wooden barrels and amphorae (KVEVRI from Georgia) and a further 8-12 months bottle maturation.
Anastasios Karagiozidis
CEO of Kappa Winery
Natural wines produced with hard work in the vineyard, with the least possible intervention, with little or no sulphite, without yeast, enzymes and stabilizers”.
This is our philosophy for good wine. This is our partners’ inspiration.
We bottle some of our wines fresh. Other wines are aged for 6 to 12 months
in oak barrels. Everything is unfiltered. This is how we highlight the flavors
and natural aromas of some fine wines.
Cheers!
Eleni Charalampaki
Co-creator of Kappa Winery & Sales Manager
We are a winery open to the public with the approval of the Ministry of Tourism and welcome schools, wine-loving groups, and individual visitors for a tasting, educational tour, guided tour, or a visit to one of the winery's musical and artistic events. Our tours are conducted in Greek, English, and German, giving everyone the opportunity to learn about the production process and history of our wines.
We maintain a traditional distillery on our premises, with a variety of spirits linked to tradition and quality, distilling for third parties as well.
Here you find the right space for every type of visit and season.
From April until the end of the distillation period, we organize events and musical evenings, making each visit unique. Every moment at Kappa is an opportunity to share our passion for wine, our land, and tradition, bringing people closer to the authentic experience of our varieties in Naoussa.
Antonios Alifragkis, Kappa Winery Oenologist
We are taking care of our vines to produce the best grapes with the technical and taste characteristics that we have determined. This approach allows us to produce our wines with the least possible intervention.
We produce our wine in controlled temperature conditions, which allows the primary aromas of each variety to emerge.
