Thymiopoulos family has been in agriculture and grape-growing in the village of Trilofos for generations. Apostolos Thymiopoulos was the first to vinify the family vineyards while studying oenology.

In 2005, he produced his first wine named “Earth and sky”. He truly believes in sustainable viticulture and minimum intervention during the whole winemaking process.

Apostolos applies this philosophy to produce ten different expressions of xinomavro, the renowned variety of Northern Greece, trying to reveal every aspect of its potential.

Thymiopoulos winery is located in Trilofos, a village on the foothills of Vermio mountain. A place in perfect harmony with nature, offering wines that reflect their origin.

Review on the coffee/wine/food shop of the new museum in Vergina (it belongs to the same company) Impeccable service, very friendly staff, absolutely reasonable prices (especially for a museum shop) and a very well looked after place. A very pleasant surprise. Very highly recommended. Well done.

I had such a great time at the winery! Thymiopoulos is a legend. Nikos, pictured, organized the visit. Communication was so easy. The drive there scenic, and the selection of wines of course. It came with cold cuts and cheese. Such warm hearted and kind people

Great wine, nice people and wonderful setting. Worth the visit if you like to get an impression of the Naoussa terroir.

We took a tour of the winery with Nikos, whose extensive knowledge made the experience exceptional, furthermore we tried few wines and all were also exceptional.

At the end of October, we had the pleasure of visiting the winery and taking a tour after contacting them by phone, as we were traveling from Athens. Mr. Nikos, who guided us, was very detailed, clear, and easy to understand. We were able to experience the owner's passion and the excellence of his wines firsthand! The tasting area was a bit dated, but we were told that a modern area is planned near the winery. The 4-star rating stems from the price of €38 per person for the tour with a tasting of four wines (unbelievable!), which negatively surprised us (there was only one tasting suggestion – no choice). Upon our complaint, we were offered the tour for €38 for two people (the four wines: Earth and Sky, Rose Xinomavro, Alta & Atma). Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to taste higher-quality wines that we had actually hoped to (e.g., Vrana Petra). The wines we tasted are the ones you can find everywhere in Athens (except for the white wine they export). I should also mention that the cost for a tour and tasting at the other wineries ranged from €6 per person (3 wines – €3 extra if you buy any) to a maximum of €30 per person (10 wines). Naturally, we didn't hesitate to fill our trunk with wine and will continue to choose Thymiopoulo.
