Le Cimate, In the Heart of Umbria
Le Cimate is situated in one of the most beautiful locations at the heart of Umbria in Montefalco. Three generations of the Bartoloni Family have contributed to the construction and development of the winery; grandfather Paolo who dedicated his life to agriculture and always specialized in vine growing; his son Giovanni who had the courage to believe in the investment necessary to realize one of the most modern cellars in the area; and grandson Paolo who with his degree in agricultural studies now dedicates his life to wine production.
Taste Excellent Wines at Le Cimate Winery
The family owns in total 184 hectares of land, of which 108 hectares are used for grain production, 15 hectares for the hazelnut, 15 hectares for DOP olive groves, and 23 hectares of vines. In the vineyards they cultivate Sagrantino, Trebbiano Spoletino, Vermentino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tannat, Viognier, Chardonnay, Grechetto and Sangiovese grape varieties. The grapes are used to produce some of the best wines in the region. The list of their wines includes Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, Montefalco Rosso DOC, Trebbiano Spoletino DOC, and other IGT wines. They also produce a popular dessert wine Sagrantino Montefalco DOCG Passito.
