Azienda Agricola Romaldo Greco, a Family Winery

Azienda Agricola Romaldo Greco was established in 1973 by Romaldo in Secli, a small village at the Salento Peninsula center. Romaldo has a strong relationship with the land and has put in hard work, sacrifice, and commitment from the very beginning. The region was always perfect for vine cultivation, and Romaldo tried to improve the grapes’ production and quality. In 2005, his son, Antongiulio, joined the winery and the family business. He brought a lot of innovation, and modern processes and techniques were adopted for winemaking.

In the Winery’s Vineyards

The vineyards are spread across almost 15 hectares in different locations, Murrone, Conte Grande, Renda, and Valentini. The soil is mostly clay-based and has a medium texture. The land varies slightly in all the vineyards, leading to the growth of a variety of grapes and a great diversity in the wines. The native grapes grown are Primitivo and Negroamaro. International grape varieties like Syrah, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot are also grown in the vineyards. The winery combines tradition with innovation and passion for maintaining the quality of their wines.

Technological Difference of Azienda Agricola Romaldo Greco

The winery uses thermal chromo ink on their labels, which means that they start glowing when the wine reaches the optimum serving temperature. The bottle’s logo remains colorless and only radiates at the right temperature, which is a unique feature of their wine bottles.
