The Statti estate is located in Lamezia Terme in Calabria and is home to some great wines in the region. The Statti family, a well respected family in the region, have owned this land since the 1700s and have played an important role for Calabrian economy. Today, they cultivate more than 500 hectares of land and produces excellent quality olive oil, wine and milk.
They own over hundred hectares ideally located of vineyards where they grow their grapes. They believe that the best best wines are made in the vineyard so they have devoted a lot to manage their vineyards in the best way possible. They grow various local and international varieties of grapes such as Gaglioppo, Greco, Greco Nero, Mantonico, Magliocco Canino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Merlot in their vineyards. These grapes that they grow in the vineyards are processed in their winery to produce a wide range of red, white, rose, sparkling and dessert wines. They follow traditional methods passed down through generations mixed with modern techniques for their wine making.
They have worked for sustainability and protection of the environment. They use biogas and other renewable enegry throughout the estate. They pride themselves in being the pioneer in adopting the views of eco-sustainabilty in the region. You must visit their farm if you want to see how the company have become self sufficient. You can visit to see the winery and taste the wines but you will get the chance to see their olive production and cattle farms as well.
