Casa Vinicola Criserà is a family winery with ancient traditions that have been passed down for four generations. Keeping the focus on the authenticity and commitment to selecting quality indigenous grape varieties, they now use the latest technologies to achieve high competitiveness and standard, adapting to the global customers’ demands.

The Stunning Geographic Location of the Winery

The winery is located in the province of Reggio Calabria, at the end of Italy’s boot, between the seaside and mountains. The land is rich in flavors and colors. A defining characteristic of the Tyrrhenian coastal area is the terraces built on the hills overhanging the sea. The centuries-old stone walls run the length of the 20 km stretch of Reggio Calabria’s Costa Viola. These walls are estimated to be about 4,000 km in total of walls.

Casa Vinicola Criserà obtained national and international awards over the years, especially with IGT Calabria Nerone di Calabria, the top of their production, and IGT Costa Viola Armacia, the pride of the winery.

Several generations of winemakers have operated in the extreme conditions in the territory with high slopes and prohibitive costs in terms of working hours and human resources. The main varieties of grapes grown are Nerello Calabrese, Gaglioppo, Malvasia Nera, Prunesta, Sangiovese, Greco Bianco, Greco Nero, and Chardonnay. The best grapes go into producing their famous red, white, rosé, and dessert wines.
