Weingut Lother- Winery in the Largest Winegrowing Community in the district

The Weingut Lother winery is located at the beginning of a side valley, to the right of the Main in the southern district of Schweinfurt, Germany. Wipfeld is the largest winegrower community in the district with a vineyard area of ​​approx. 90 hectares. The medieval village structure of Wipfeld still shapes the townscape today with a rich inventory of Renaissance and Baroque buildings.

Winery Accoladed with many Awards

Weingut Lother is a family-owned winery. The present owners are the third generation of the wine-producing family. For generations, the Lother winery has been striving to develop semi-dry to dry wines according to the wishes of customers. Thanks to the careful care of the entire Weingut Lother team, the company has managed to achieve well over 500 awards for wines and sparkling wines at the state and federal levels.

Even vegan wines are now available in the online shop.

All wines thrive on shell limestone soils in pure southern slopes in two different vineyards, the Wipfelder Zehntgraf and the Obereisenheimer Höll.

Wide range of Wines

The wide range of wines includes wholesome quality wines, elegant late and selected wines, noble sweet dry berries as well as the icing on the cake – the ice wine. It is complemented by some specialties, such as sparkling wine, distillates, liqueurs, and wine jelly. The grape varieties cultivated in the vineyards at Weingut Lother are Riesling, Grauer Burgunder, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe, Bacchus, Kerner, Müller-Thurgau, Solaris, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Dorsa, Domina, Blauburger, Dornfelder.

Only the best grapes are harvested for the winemaking process. The grapes are first taken to the cellars where they are fermented in large vats which is then followed by the aging and maturation process of only the red wines in big wooden barrels. The prime wine categories of wine produced from the grapes are red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines.
