Exceptional Wines from Shell-Limestone Soils in Franken
Weingut Lother - A Gem in Wipfeld's Wine Community
Weingut Lother is nestled at the entrance of a picturesque side valley along the Main River in Wipfeld, the largest winegrowing community in the Schweinfurt district of Germany. With approximately 90 hectares of vineyards, Wipfeld boasts a charming medieval village atmosphere, characterized by its stunning Renaissance and Baroque architecture.
A Legacy of Excellence
This family-owned winery has been in the Lother family for three generations, dedicated to crafting semi-dry to dry wines that cater to the preferences of their customers. The commitment to quality has earned Weingut Lother over 500 awards for their wines and sparkling wines at both state and federal levels. Vegan wines are also available in their online shop.
The vineyards thrive on shell limestone soils, benefiting from the sun-drenched southern slopes of two prime locations: Wipfelder Zehntgraf and Obereisenheimer Höll.
Diverse Wine Selection
Weingut Lother offers a wide array of wines, including quality wines, elegant late and selected wines, and exquisite ice wine. Their portfolio also features sparkling wines, distillates, liqueurs, and wine jelly. The vineyards cultivate a variety of grapes, such as Riesling, Grauer Burgunder, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, and more.
Only the finest grapes are selected for winemaking. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented in large vats, with red wines aged in traditional wooden barrels. The winery produces a range of wine categories, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines, ensuring there is something for every palate.
