Antonelli San Marco is one of the oldest wineries in the Montefalco DOCG area, with a rich history dating back to 1883. This family-owned estate spans 190 hectares in a prime location, fully committed to organic practices since 2009.

Unique Terroir

The winery benefits from clayey and calcareous soils, shaped by diverse geological origins. The rugged hills, surrounded by lush woods, create an ideal microclimate for both vines and olives. With 60 hectares dedicated to vineyards and 10 hectares to olive groves, the estate primarily cultivates native grape varieties. These include Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino for whites, and Sangiovese and Sagrantino for reds.

Experiences at the Winery

Visitors can enjoy guided tours, wine tastings, and culinary experiences such as lunches and dinners in the cellar. Cooking lessons and truffle hunting are also available, providing a taste of local traditions. Soon, the winery will offer accommodations in a newly renovated structure nestled among the vineyards and olive groves.

Local Products

In addition to exceptional wines, Antonelli San Marco produces two types of extra virgin olive oil, wild pork salami, and grappa made from Sagrantino marc. These products reflect the rich agricultural heritage of the Umbria region.

We visited the Antonelli winery late Sunday morning, unfortunately very quickly, there was a lot to see but we ran out of time... we were welcomed by a very young but very friendly guy, we bought some very good white wines and some good oil but in my opinion a little expensive.

I had been wanting to visit this winery for a long time, and I had tasted their Rosso. Unfortunately, for now I only tried the Trebbiano and the Sagrantino, including the CRU Chiusa di Pannone. I was guided by the nice gentleman. I appreciated Luca, whose great clarity in presenting the wines and his great professionalism made the experience even more pleasant. I deliberately bought only a few wines to have an excuse to return and visit Montefalco too. Very beautiful and charming environment.

Cellar tour and superlative tasting! Tasting room entirely glazed with a splendid view of the valley in front. A big compliment to Lorenzo for the competence, passion and patience he showed in accompanying us in discovering the area, the cellar and its wines, answering all questions, giving us thousands of pieces of information and details and also teaching us something new! Special mention goes to Trebbiano Spoletino, a grape variety and a wine that are both a great discovery: both in the still version, as a sparkling wine using the classic method (Pas Dosé) and macerated. Sagrantino DOCG and DOC wines, all of the highest level. Even at the level of its notoriety, the raisin wine has largely proven itself. Absolutely worth a visit!

The wine tasting was excellent as was the bruschetta that they provided, just a simple grilled bread with their olive oil. The wine that we tried were diverse and there were choices at several price points. We ended up bringing 8 bottles home

My family and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Antonelli San Marco whilst traveling through Montefalco, and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience. From start to finish, it was a day to remember.
The winery tour was exceptional. Our tour guide Wendy provided us with a fascinating insight into the winemaking process as well as the region itself. She was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about their craft, making the tour engaging and informative for all of us.

What truly stole the show was the phenomenal Umbrian lunch served during the tasting. The gourmet spread paired perfectly with the wines we sampled, creating an exquisite gastronomic experience. Each dish was carefully crafted and bursting with flavours that complemented the wines beautifully. They went above and beyond, ensuring that our group of 13 people were taken care of and even provided a special gluten-free menu for my sister who has dietary restrictions. The ambiance of the winery was also charming, with picturesque vineyard views adding to the overall experience. We left Antonelli San Marco with full hearts and satisfied palates, eager to return for another unforgettable visit. Highly recommended for wine enthusiasts and anyone seeking a delightful culinary adventure!
