Bodegas Carpe Diem is the wine heart of SCAAVO, the agricultural cooperative of Mollina. Founded in 1977 by 19 local farmers, the cooperative now brings together around 1,300 members and remains an essential part of life in the village. Wine production was added in the early 1990s, joining a long tradition of olive growing, extra virgin olive oil and table olives.
This is a real working cooperative, not a visitor-only setting. Here, grapes and olives from local members are received, transformed, stored and bottled. The winery produces wines protected by the Málaga and Sierras de Málaga designations, working with local varieties such as Pedro Ximénez, Muscat and Doradilla, together with red varieties including Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Visitors can discover the surrounding vineyards and olive groves, the working winery, historic cellar, modern bottling line, olive oil mill and table-olive facilities, depending on the activity taking place that day. The visit connects traditional Málaga winemaking with the modern equipment used by the cooperative today.
Tastings bring together dry, red, sparkling and naturally sweet wines, extra virgin olive oils and local food pairings. Located in Mollina, around 50 minutes from Málaga, Bodegas Carpe Diem offers an authentic small-group experience that introduces the people, fields and flavours behind the cooperative.
