Exceptional Wines from Century-Old Vineyards

Bodegas Nabal is a family-run winery established by the Navarro Balbas family, who have been dedicated to winemaking for over 20 years in the Ribera del Duero region. Renowned for their exceptional wines, they source grapes from nearly 100-year-old vineyards, ensuring a unique character in every bottle.

Artisan Wines Rooted in Tradition

The Navarro Balbas family is committed to producing artisan wines through meticulous care and attention at every stage of the winemaking process. They honor their rich history and traditional practices while integrating modern techniques to craft outstanding wines. Located in the northernmost part of Ribera del Duero, in Gumiel de Izan, Burgos, the winery features state-of-the-art equipment that enhances their winemaking capabilities.

Signature Wines from Bodegas Nabal

The vineyards surrounding the winery are primarily located in Gumiel de Izan, Sotillo de la Ribera, Quintana del Pidio, and La Aguilera. This region benefits from a humid continental climate, characterized by low rainfall and significant temperature variations between day and night. These conditions are ideal for cultivating high-quality grapes. The main grape varieties grown include Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Albillo. Each grape is handpicked to ensure only the best are selected for their red, white, and rosé wines. Careful attention is given to each vineyard to produce flavorful grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks with minimal human intervention, while controlled temperature and humidity in the cellar allow the wines to age in oak barrels, developing their rich fruity flavors and intense aromas.

A very good tour and experience. The wines were delicious and everyone's attention was great, with very good prices both for tasting and for buying bottles. Maryje gave a very good explanation!

Mari Luz was a wonderful guide! She gave us a complete tour in English, thoroughly explaining the process and history of their winery. The winery itself is beautiful and the wines are superb quality. We especially enjoyed the personal treatment and the rose and reserva wines were our favorites! We look forward to ordering their wines to enjoy from our home. We definitely recommend the visit and tasting

We did a tasting with the special visit for children, who were given a treasure hunt while they explained how wine is made and showed us the winery. Very interesting. The children had a great time looking for clues and solving puzzles. Then, while they were having a snack, we tasted three wines (with guided and explained tasting). Highly recommended.

For the second time in less than two years we visited the wineries and we left with the same opinion, a spectacular, different experience, this time they proposed an oenological visit with tastings of the wines in their different phases and ended with another tasting but this time with chocolate , Without words, the surprise of how these two products combine and complement each other, an explosion of nuances. The work of Mari Luz and Jorge de 10, professionals, two encyclopedias with legs who love their work and that shows in each explanation they give us. Thank you for your dedication.

We enjoyed the cata de vinos with Jesus, it was an amazing experience, we tasted three different wines with descriptions of the taste, manufacturing process, quality, flavors, etc. I would recommend this experience. We didn’t have time for the whole visit, maybe next time. 😉
