Haute Cabrière Winery, Wine Production for Over 25 Years
Nestled in the Franschhoek Valley, the Haute Cabrière Winery has produced wines with Burgundian grape varieties for over 25 years. Most of the vineyards are located on the Franschhoek Mountain slopes, where the owner cultivates the winery’s flagship grapes, combined with other unique varieties. This winery is a perfect place for visitors to spend a memorable vacation.
Award-Winning Wines from a 300-Year Old Winery
Haute Cabrière Winery has a fascinating history that traces its roots back to the late 17th century. The winery began when Huguenot Pierre Jordan was given a small piece of land in Franschhoek in 1694. Later in early 1980, Achim von Arnim purchased the land and started the cultivation of vines for his own winery. Today, Takuan von Arnim, the cellar master and second generation of the family, handles the functionality and adds his stamp to the award-winning wines.
Haute Cabrière Winery and its Exceptional Wine
After taking the helm from his father, Takuan cultivates two aromatic grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with complete respect for nature and traditional values. These grapes are handpicked, moved to the cellar to produce a wide range of wines, including red, white, and rosé wines, accompanied by luscious sparkling, dessert, and fortified wines.
The iconic wine cellar built in 1994, has been transformed into a world-class winery for visitors to immerse themselves in the rich culture of the von Arnim Family. There is a tasting room, which was initially a cave, where guests are welcome to enjoy the wine tasting, along with a beautiful, outdoor patio overlooking the entire Franschhoek Valley.
