Klados Winery: A Taste of Cretan Heritage

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Maria took us on a personal winery tour and then we had a wine tasting with six wines. Maria gave great explanations about each of the wines tasted and it was accompanied by a nice plate of Cretan rusks and tomato. Great wine too!!!

We went there unannounced for a wine tasting. The wines were good and the place was pleasant. However, it took an unnecessarily long time between different wines. But we discussed the flavors during that time. Fantastic views of the mountains and surrounding area. Something that would have improved the experience would have been to take a tour of the vineyard and see how they make it.

A fine winery that was founded in 1997 and currently has 6 different wines in its range. Nice service and personal tour. Available to buy a cheese platter when you taste. We bought a few bottles to take home.

A fantastic afternoon tasting delicious organic wine at Klados Winery. The ladies serving the wine and giving us a tour were brilliant, very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were delicious and great value. This is an excellent afternoon and would highly recommend this winery to visit.

Wonderful setting, delicious wine tasting for a very small price. We also got a little tour of the factory. Only downside was that it was quite busy and we didn't have a reservation, so we spent quite some time here. But in such a pleasant atmosphere with nice drinks, not a problem!

Easy booking. Immediately, a confirmation by email. Once there, a lovely terrace with a beautiful panorama, two very friendly employees will explain the specificities of the different wines to you in English. We fell for the Her King. With a good character on the palate. A spittoon and a plate of toast and crushed tomatoes, as well as a bottle of still water, will be provided on the table for the tasting. We enjoyed our visit to the estate.

Friendly, nice, the girl who accompanies you during the tour is affable and precise, excellent tasting experience, 6 glasses of wine per person with a cheese board and bruschetta, all for €38 for 2 people. An experience not to be missed and different.

I’m in love with their whites!!! Very nice experience, good tasting and really great wines! We preordered the cheese which was great addition to the tasting. Very friendly hosts! Must visit!

Very good experience, very good wines in a pleasant setting

Wonderful setting and view - we have visited many times and never been disappointed! We ordered a bottle of Pink Blackbird and a small Cretan cheese plate for two. Yummy cheeses and a very generous portion!! Be warned! The team work hard to please. Good all-round hospitality. Well done! We will be back!

Yes, just drive up the road where the winery is signposted! You shouldn't take the other route (see photos of the wilderness)... The wine is generally quite cheap, but not worth more than that... But they are nice, inexpensive "drinking wines" for vacation evenings.

Highly recommended, a must-do when in Crete. Anyone who enjoys wine and is interested in winemaking and its production should book the tasting and wine tour. €10 includes six wines, bread, and olive oil – a dream. Wine is always a matter of taste, and we really enjoyed it. The person conducting the tasting is also highly recommended.

A great winery for a spontaneous tasting! Simply visit the website or contact the winery directly via email (or call) to make an appointment and head over. The wine journey includes six wines, from white to rosé to red. This is served with Cretan rusks with oil and tomatoes. If you like, you can also get Cretan cheese. They approach the experience with passion and enthusiasm. The journey is an adventure and not for the faint of heart, but you know what you're after at the end: do it and enjoy!

Another insider tip and highly recommended. The wine tasting is professional and fairly priced – €10 for six wines. The prices of the consistently excellent wines are also all under €10 per bottle. You'll want to buy wine by the case – but there's an importer in Germany where you can order these excellent wines for just a small surcharge. Getting there is relatively complicated, on gravel roads...

We spent a wonderful afternoon at Klados Winery and would recommend a visit to everyone! The super friendly team and the family atmosphere made this day the highlight of our vacation. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Crete! ☺️

A wonderful place to live. We had the opportunity to taste 5 wines with a large cheese board for an affordable price; all with a sublime view of the hills and olive trees. The staff is passionate and explained everything to us clearly. Be careful of the dirt road leaving the estate, which is quite steep.

Very warm welcome. Wine tasting with local grape varieties. Amazing.
