The winery is located  in Crete, the largest island of Greece. in the heart of the wine region of Dafnes,  which has been established as an apellation zone for wines  Protected Designation of Origin (DAFNES P.D.O.)

 The island has a long and continuous history in viticulture and wine production, which begun 4,000 years ago.

The tradition and history of Douloufakis Family in viticulture and wine production started in 1930 when the grandfather Dimitris Douloufakis fist established the professional wine production in old traditional premises. In 1952 Douloufakis Family participated in the 17th International Trade Fair of Thessaloniki and was awarded a title for the quality of its products.

Nowadays, Nikos Douloufakis  third generation winamaker, continues the wine tradition.

"I am the third generation of winemakers, following in the footsteps of my Grandfather, and Father. The Wine for me is much more than a simple word. It is my profession, my hobby, my pleasure. Engaged with wine, I am a part of a tradition and a culture that counts more than four thousand years in this place."

We came for a wine tasting; there was a short and interesting tour of the production facilities, and then we were able to sample two white wines, a rosé, and two red wines. The service was incredibly friendly, and they served delicious homemade snacks. Highly recommended!

Amazing winery with very knowledgeable and talented staff, i had a blast visiting and going on the tour, the wines are very special and delicious. I learned a lot visiting douloufakis and dafnes in general and i would definitely come back when im in crete

This wine tasting is a must if you are in Crete. First, you will take a guided tour with an explanation of the winemaking process, with a glass of wine in hand. We booked the tasting in the vineyards. You will be taken to the winery where you will receive six tastings with cheese, bread, and water. The explanation from the owner's son was very interesting, and you will also learn how to taste wine correctly and what flavors can be extracted from it. The view was definitely a plus.
