The La Pizzuta del Principe winery is nestled in the picturesque region of Calabria, specifically in Strongoli, Crotone Province. Managed by the Ranieri Family since the early 1900s, this estate is surrounded by a stunning landscape that features rugged mountains, lush woodlands, serene valleys, and sun-kissed coastlines. Calabria is a treasure trove of ancient villages, each steeped in history and charm.

A Heritage of Vineyards and Distinctive Wines

The Val di Neto area, located near Crotone, is renowned for producing some of Calabria's most celebrated PDO and PGI wines. This region has a rich viticultural history that dates back to ancient times when Crotone, known as Kroton, was a prominent city in Magna Grecia.

At La Pizzuta del Principe, our goal is to craft exceptional PDO and PGI wines that honor the native grape varieties integral to our heritage. We focus on preserving ancient traditions while showcasing the unique flavors and aromas that our land offers. Our vineyards span 13 hectares, featuring indigenous grapes such as Pecorello, Gaglioppo, Greco Nero, and Magliocco Canino. We are proud to have completed our transition to organic farming, with all wines from the 2017 harvest now certified organic.

We invite you to visit our beautiful villa, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea while savoring our exquisite wines.

Yet another tasty tasting in this winery not far from Crotone: visit among the rows of Grecobianco Greconero Magliocco Gaglioppo and Cabernet with Antonio, one of the guys who takes care of the vines, and another guy whose name unfortunately I don't remember, but very kind and reliable ... Antonio exudes passion and love for his work 🍷 Then tasting of 3 wines with local specialties, including a potato cake, cheese, vegetables and I don't know what else TO FLY GO. Highly recommended visit!!
