Crafting Exceptional Wines Since the Early 1900s
The Origins of Cantine De Mare
In the early 1900s, the picturesque region of Cirò in Calabria was known for its rich grape cultivation, a tradition passed down through generations. To enhance production, new vineyards were established after thorough analysis of the land, ensuring the highest quality grapes. A significant milestone occurred in 2014 when the first winery was founded, marking a new chapter in the region's winemaking history. The following year saw the introduction of two signature wines: Cirò Rosato Prima Luce and Bianco Sant’Angelo. In 2021, a long-held dream was realized with the opening of a wine resort, a unique space where wine, education, nature, and relaxation come together, all just a stone's throw from the sea.
Cirò: A Heritage of Winemaking
The Greeks were among the first to recognize the potential of Cirò for vine cultivation, planting grapes to create what they called "the wine of the gods." To maintain the quality and relevance of their wines, extensive research has been conducted on the local terroir before establishing the winery. This commitment to quality and tradition ensures that Cantine De Mare continues to produce wines that reflect the unique character of Calabria, appealing to wine lovers and travelers alike.
