A Family Tradition of Passion
Lyrarakis Winery is a family-owned establishment located on the beautiful island of Crete, Greece. Over the past five decades, the Lyrarakis family has dedicated themselves to reviving indigenous grape varieties that were nearly lost to history. They are particularly known for bringing back three ancient Cretan varieties: Dafni, Plyto, and Melissaki.
The Winery and Its Terroirs
Situated in the Alagni region of Central Crete at an altitude of 480 meters, Lyrarakis Winery offers stunning views of the Lassithi mountains and the Psarades vineyard. Visitors can stroll through the vineyards, learn about the local grape varieties, and gain insight into the winemaking traditions of Crete. The winery produces handcrafted wines from local grapes such as Plyto, Dafni, Melissaki, Vilana, Vidiano, Kotsifali, Liatiko, and Mandilari.
