Pilot Peak – Beautiful Winery with Magnificient Views
The beautiful Pilot Peak Winery is situated in the Sierra Foothills of the United States of America. The wine farm is perfectly located in the Penn Valley on a hillside with magnificent views. This winery was established at the beginning of 2004 and was first constructed from an old metal shop building that was converted into a fully functioning winery over a period of only three months.
First year of operation
During its first year of operation, the Pilot Peak winery produced 600 cases of wine which sold out in record time – the Cabernet Franc completely sold out in 1 day! Today the winery produces approximately 2500 cases of wine per year.
A number of these wines have won both local and international acclaim including the Best of Show, Best of Class and numerous gold medals from major competitions in California such as the San Francisco Chronicle and the California State Fair.
Sunset Event
The Pilot Peak winery is currently operated by The Wilson and Steven’s families who all love to host guests and visitors to their winery and estate. The families have become well known in the area for their hosting of the Saturday Sunsets at the Peak which are a crowd favourite with local music and reasonably priced local foods. This event is held every Saturday from 6-10 pm. Pilot Peak and its staff gained recognition for their efforts to open the Grass Valley Wine company in the downtown Grass Valley district. This location offers access to Pilot Peak wines for those who cannot make it to visit the winery itself.
