Meet Darcie Kent: Artist and Winemaker

Darcie Kent carries on a rich family tradition in winemaking that began with her great-grandfather, who emigrated from Switzerland in 1875. After operating his Alpine Winery until 1945, the family legacy was revived in 2013 when Darcie, along with her husband David and daughters Amanda and Kailyn, purchased the estate vineyard and winery. Today, they produce wines using state-of-the-art equipment, and Darcie's original artwork adorns the labels, reflecting the unique spirit of their vineyards.

Had the most amazing tasting on Saturday with our girls group. We loved the wine so much that we had to become members! Our host was so kind and attentive, they even sat us though we accidentally reserved the following weekend. Thank you for a great experience and looking forward to more visits! (The sparkling wine is to die for)

Loved the hospitality and the wines. Excellent service. The location is very serene and pretty. Loved the purple barn where we had our wine tasting. The servers are super friendly and made our time there very pleasant. Went on Mother's Day and it was amazing. Thanks!

Our visit to Darcie Kent Winery was the highlight of our trip to Livermore. We had the pleasure of enjoying a tasting outside amidst the beautiful vineyards. The setting was picturesque, making the experience even more enjoyable. The wine itself was excellent. We were particularly impressed with our wine steward, Ian. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable about wine and the local area, but he also has a great sense of humor that added to the fun of the tasting. Ian's recommendations were spot-on, and he guided us through the Mixed Palette flight with enthusiasm. We even got a couple of bonus pours, which was a delightful surprise. All the wines we tried were well-balanced, and we were so impressed that we decided to join The Portfolio Club. The club offers free shipping, which is perfect for us since we live in Florida. If you visit Darcie Kent Winery, be sure to ask for Ian—he’s amazing and will undoubtedly enhance your experience!

Went on a busy day during the winter holiday week. They handled the numbers of people there very well with a smile. Enjoyed the wines. Lovely outdoor patio. Beautiful art in the labels and walls. Our pup enjoyed it there too.

Had a wonderful tasting here. The staff was very knowledgeable about where and how each wine came to be. The coolest part about the tasting room was the beautiful artwork created by the winery owner. It was a really nice experience - unrushed - and even included a few extras :)
