A Winery That Produces the Best Txakoli White Wines
Dotted by rows of vines, admiring the sea, Rezabal is a family-run winery located in Zarautz in the Getariako Txakolina region. The company utilizes the latest winemaking methods, blended with traditional practices, to produce high-end PDO Getariako Txakolina wines. The vineyards are nestled on the slopes of Zarautz, planted with native grape varieties.
Three Generations of Intense Winemaking Vocation
Although the vine cultivation and winemaking traditions were passed on from grandparents to parents to grandchildren, the estate was established in 1996 by Anders Rezabal. Anders is a third-generation winemaker of the Rezabal. Accompanied by wife Mireya, he has brought many changes in the conventional wine production phases.
The Two Impeccable Gems of the Rezabal Winery
Covering 24 hectares, in a traditional high trellis system, the Rezabal Winery grows two native grape varieties, namely Hondarrabi-Zuri and Hondarrabi-Beltza. Hondarribi Beltza is a red vine used for the Txakoli rose, best described as light, velvety, and delicate, whereas Hondarribi Zuri is a white vine, features as bright, refreshing, and fruity aroma. Constant sea breezes and freshness of the terroirs benefit these two varieties to bring out the best berries.
