Crafting Authentic Basque Cider Since 1870
Sidras Bereziartua: A Legacy of Cider-Making
Founded in 1870, Sidras Bereziartua is a family-owned cider producer located in the heart of the Basque Country. Originally established in Ergobia, the company moved to its current facilities in Astigarraga in 1970. With a deep respect for their loyal customers, Sidras Bereziartua has become a prominent name in the natural cider industry. They blend traditional methods with modern technology, utilizing over 60 wooden and stainless steel barrels, each with a capacity of more than 1,000 liters, along with two refrigerated warehouses for optimal fermentation.
Quality Apples from the Basque Country
The team at Sidras Bereziartua is dedicated to sourcing the finest apple varieties from France, Galicia, and local orchards. Their commitment to promoting Basque products has led to a revival of local apple cultivation, supported by the Eusko Label. The cider undergoes careful fermentation in their cellar, ensuring that it reaches the perfect flavor profile before bottling. Each green glass bottle is meticulously cleaned to prevent any contact with water, preserving the cider's quality. Bottles made with local Basque apples proudly display the EUSKO LABEL sticker, signifying their authenticity.
