Sidras Bereziartua, a Family-run Company Since 1870

The Sidras Bereziartua is a family-run company in the industry of cider-making since 1870. At that time, their estate was in Ergobia and now after a century in 1970, they produce the cider at their new installations in 1970 in Astigarraga and are located currently there too. They have a lot of respect and value for their loyal customers and have become a significant firm in the production of natural cider. In keeping with the history and tradition of the family, they have also installed modern machinery and innovative technology for the production of high-quality cider. They have about 60 wood and stainless steel barrels with more than 1000 litres capacity and two refrigerated warehouses for the fermentation process.

Local Basque Country Grapes

The workers try to work for the best possible varietals and harvest of apples and proper work in the various stages of cider production. They use the best apple varieties from France, Galicia and the local apples. Recently, the work done to promote the local Basque Country’s products and Eusko Label’s support has allowed them to recover the production of local apples. The apples undergo fermentation in the cellar to make ciders. After the cider reaches an optimum level for consumption, the bottling process takes place. Green glass bottles and the bottles are carefully cleaned before the bottling of cider. It is also made sure that the cider does not come in contact with the water. If the cider is made with local Basque Country grapes, the bottles will feature a EUSKO LABEL sticker.
