Weinreich Winery: rich in excellent wine
Nestled in the Wonnegau district of the Rheinhessen wine region in Germany is Weingut Weinreich. In Deutsch, Weingut translates to good wine while Weinreich translates to rich with wine. Here people have dedicated their lives to viniculture. Even though younger generations have taken over this winery since 2009, the methods used are traditional, the same that were familiar to their grandparents. Run by Marc and Nina Weinreich, this family winery has escalated extensively over the past several years and tremendously increased their viticultural practices.
Wines reflecting the Terroir
In this winery spread across fifteen hectares, environmentally sustainable practices are utilized in the vineyards, manual harvests and minimal intervention during the winemaking. Therefore, the true character of the Bechtheim vineyards is reflected in the wines.
Their wines tell the story of the winemakers and their origin and about 100,000 bottles of wines are made in this winery every year
Experience the natural wines of Weinreich
One of the most valued parts of their winery is the production of natural wines, called “Natürlich Weinreich” in German. These wines are fermented on the skins with natural yeast, unfiltered and without the addition of sulfites. The vineyards focus on the three major varietals: Riesling, Pinot, Chardonnay. The goodness from these vines is eventually made into red, white and sparkling wines.
Some of the classic wines in their collection are the Gutsweine which is the easy drinking, varietally true favorites. The wine that expresses mineral based authenticity is the Ortsweine. The exceptionally remarkable asset of their collection is the Lagenweine.
