Located on the right bank of the Douro River, Maçanita Vinhos is a boutique winery nestled in the heart of the Douro Valley, just 20 minutes from Pinhão in the Cima Corgo sub-region.

A Wine Secret

This charming winery produces around 80,000 bottles annually, offering a diverse selection of red, white, and rosé wines. Recently, Maçanita Vinhos has ventured into Port wine production, a well-kept secret that adds to its allure.

Unique Offerings from Adega Maçanita

At Maçanita Vinhos, the focus is on showcasing the unique terroir of the Douro Valley. The winery features a variety of wines, including monovarietals like the 100% Touriga Nacional Cima Corgo and the 100% Touriga Nacional Letra A, which highlight the same grape variety grown at different altitudes. Additionally, the winery produces multi-grape blends from ancient granite vineyards, fine oxidative Malvasia from the lower Corgo, and a vibrant 100% Arinto known for its refreshing acidity. Each wine reflects the distinct character of its vineyard, crafted by the Maçanita brothers with a commitment to authenticity.

Minimalist Oenology at Adega Maçanita

The oenology at Maçanita Vinhos embraces a minimalist approach, allowing the natural qualities of the grapes and their origins to shine. The brothers challenge conventional winemaking practices, seeking out the hidden treasures of the Douro Valley. Their philosophy prioritizes the unique expressions of the region, resulting in wines that tell a story of their place of origin.

I love the wine at Maçanitas. The premises are easy to reach and very close to the train station. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The tasting is very friendly and the cold cuts and cheese platter is quite extensive. Thank you for the great experience!

I went there 2 years ago, and I am just writing a recommendation to my friends visiting Portugal, so I suppose I should recommend Maçanita to the world too. In my book it was top 5 wine tasting in Portugal. They make wine, that you will remember for a long time.
