Quinta de S.Tiago is situated at the "doors of Douro" the region of Cima Corgo. Our estate as always been in the hands of the family, first starting selling the grapes to other companies and later founding their own company Mãos e Irmãos.

The Story from Selling Grapes to Making Wines

Quinta de Santiago is owned by the family since 1899. For about 100 years, Quinta de Santiago's main activity was the production of wines, olive oil, lupine, cereals, milk, meat, fruit, etc, for self-consumption. The main destination of the grape produced was the sale to large companies in the region and that was until 2009. When the then owner, Grandma “Mariazinha”, aged 86, started the project Quinta de Santiago “boutique winery” was born.

Our production of wine is focused on bringing the best quality to our costumers, and always keeping the tradition of the Douro.

Fantastic welcome

Only good things to say about Rafael's welcome and his thoughtful touches for the children. A very pleasant tasting in their beautiful dining room. A most satisfying discovery!

Wow, what an experience! Rafael is extremely welcoming and starts by telling you about his farm and the various streams of income that his farm utilizes, including wine making, collecting olives for olive oil and selling their grapes. The food was incredible, easily the best we have had in Spain or Portugal so far! Each appetizer/meal was paired with a different wine and Rafael talks you through the best pairings as you enjoy your meal. My family of 4 came and had a wonderful experience, including my 3 and 5 year old children. Rafael and his staff are incredibly accommodating and worked hard to find dishes the kids would enjoy. If you are uncertain as to whether you should come if you have small children, purge the idea from your mind and come enjoy wine and a meal at this Quinta! We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area and will be recommending this farm to all of our friends and family. We also purchased a couple of bottles of wine to take with us, as all the wines you taste are available to purchase as you leave. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Great value for money spent!
