AMERIMERI Natural Wine Festival (Tskaltubo, Georgia)

Imereti Georgia First Weekend of December

AMERIMERI is Georgia's leading natural wine festival in the west of the country, held each December in the spa town of Tskaltubo.

AMERIMERI Natural Wine Festival (Tskaltubo, Georgia)

AMERIMERI is one of the festivals that anchors the Georgian wine calendar, drawing local wine lovers, professionals and international travellers each year. It is the second major festival run by the Natural Wine Association, alongside ZERO COMPROMISE. First held in 2017, it brings together more than 80 wineries and over 300 natural wines.

What to expect

The festival is deliberately rooted in Western Georgia. Its founder, Soliko Tsaishvili, wanted to keep it in Imereti so that natural wine would be more accessible to Western Georgia and visitors could meet qvevri-producing winemakers directly; since 2024 it has been named in his honour. Member wineries use only organically grown grapes and no industrial additives. The mood is informal, with recent editions spotlighting rising regions like Racha-Lechkhumi, Samegrelo and Guria. Exporters, restaurateurs and journalists attend alongside the public.

Dates and practical information

AMERIMERI is traditionally held in early December at the Legends Tskaltubo Spa Resort (Rustaveli St. #23, Tskaltubo); the 2026 edition is expected in December 2026, date to be confirmed. Recent editions ran 12:00–18:00 with a 25 GEL ticket including the catalogue. Organised by the Natural Wine Association with support from the National Wine Agency.

Getting there and local cuisine

Tskaltubo sits in Western Georgia, a short detour from Kutaisi and its international airport, with the Prometheus and Sataplia caves nearby. Western Georgian food pairs well with the wines — Imeretian khachapuri, elarji, kharcho and walnut-rich vegetable dishes.
