Concise & Engaging (Best for a "Quick About Us")
Cas’ Amaro is a wine and wine tourism project located in Aldeia Galega da Merceana, just north of Lisbon. It was created with the intention of making honest Portuguese wines and welcoming people into experiences that are closely connected to the land, art, architecture, and a sustainable way of working. Today, the project is present in five wine regions across Portugal, Vinhos Verdes, Douro, Dão, Lisbon, and Alentejo, bringing together different estates and very distinct terroirs, each one respected and interpreted on its own terms.
Sustainability is a natural part of how Cas’ Amaro works. The vineyards follow organic practices whenever possible, with great care for local ecosystems and a low intervention approach in the winery. Only Portuguese grape varieties are used, with a strong focus on native and lesser known grapes that express the country’s wine heritage. The wines are dry, balanced, and food focused, made to be enjoyed at the table. Lower alcohol levels, elegance, and authenticity are always preferred over volume or excess.
Wine tourism plays a central role in the Cas’ Amaro project. Visitors are invited to discover an open winery, walk through the vineyards, and take part in a wide range of experiences. These include guided tours, relaxed and informative tastings, harvest experiences, nature based activities, cultural moments, and food and wine experiences that reflect the region and its people. Everything is designed to feel genuine and unforced, with a strong sense of place.
Cas’ Amaro also offers a Wine Villa for boutique stays surrounded by vineyards, ideal for guests looking for a deeper connection with wine and landscape. The project is completed by a Wine Shop, Wine Bar, and Restaurant, where wine is always at the center, and food is thoughtfully prepared to pair naturally with the wines. These spaces also host events, private tastings, and tailor made experiences for different types of visitors.
Cas’ Amaro is, above all, a modern Portuguese wine project that values tradition without being rigid, innovation without losing identity, and hospitality as a way of creating memorable and meaningful experiences that stay with those who visit.
