Quinta da Almiara Winery is located in a place of immense natural beauty, in the center of S. Mamede da Ventosa, in Torres Vedras, a significant part of the Lisboa wine region. The family winery was established in 1980 and produces the best possible red and white wines. They use their traditional knowledge and history, coupled with modern and innovative techniques, to produce wines on their estate. The main aim of the owners of Quinta da Almiara is to show their passion for winemaking and make friends for life with their customers and visitors.

The Winery Surrounded by Vineyards

Their estate is surrounded by 160 hectares of vineyards of excellent quality. The temperature, rainfall, soil, and other conditions in the region are perfect for vines’ growth and cultivation. The temperature variations and influence of the Atlantic climate is immense. All their wines are made from their homegrown grapes, and they don’t buy grapes from outside.

Main Varieties of Grapes Grown

The main varieties of grapes in their vineyards are Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Castelão, Merlot, Aragonés, Caladoc, Syrah, and FernãoPires. The best grapes are handpicked and used to produce high-quality red and white wines. Quinta da Almiara Winery recently remodeled their winery and installed state-of-the-art equipment for the processing of grapes. They have a storage capacity of around 4 million liters in stainless steel tanks. There is minimal intervention in the wines that gives them a fresh taste and bouquet of aromas.
