Fattoria di Petrognano, Producing Wine for Four Generations
The story of Fattoria di Petrognano began in 1963 in Montelupo Fiorentino. It is the center of the Chianti DOCG production region. The winery is in the middle of Montalbano, Montespertoli, Colli Fiorentini. The winery has been in the family for four generations and has slowly risen to prominence among the wine producers in the region.
Following a Natural and Organic Philosophy
The whole winery sits in an area of 85 hectares out of which 25 hectares are solely dedicated to grape cultivation. The main grape varieties grown in their vineyards are Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Trebbiano, Merlot and Syrah. On the farm, they follow the organic philosophy and cultivation method. This method emphasizes centrally on nature and they believe that the human being is the respectful observer and carer of the delicate balance of the ecosystem. The farms were certified organic from 2013. Their winery was built with the use of cutting-edge technology so that all vinification, storage and refinement stages are carried out in the most optimal way possible.
