The Growing Success of Terre di Noto Winery
Terre di Noto was founded in 1989 from an idea by Antonino Di Marco. The winemaker was in the area for some consultancy work. At this time, a crisis was unfolding for local wine businesses. Many parts of the vineyards in the region of Pachino and Noto were eradicated. Antonino saw a lot of potential in the territory and set up his own winery. Now the company is a well-known name, and the vineyard covers about 35 hectares. He has since run the winery with the help of his family members and other associates.
The Ideal Terroir of Terre di Noto
The winery is located at the southernmost part of Noto, and the soils, temperature, and climate are ideal in the region for vine cultivation. Apart from viticulture, the area also grows quality products like almond, citrus fruits, olives, vegetables, and other fruits. There is a lot of natural and cultural heritage around the winery.
You can reach many beautiful beaches such as Santa Maria, San Lorenzo, and Baia Porto from Terre di Noto Winery.
Sustainable Winemaking at Terre di Noto
Terre di Noto combines its traditional values with modern and innovative techniques to produce quality wines that reflect their region’s potential. The workers use sustainable and ecological methods to protect the natural environment and their vineyards. Extra care is taken in the vineyards because any mistakes will reduce the quality of their wines. The main grape varieties grown are Nero d’Avola, Moscato, Chardonnay, and Grillo. The best grapes produce their world-class red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines.
