Una cantina storica nel Chianti Classico in Toscana
One of the oldest wineries in Tuscany, Selvole produces around 80,000 bottles of wine per year. Most of the vineyards are located in the small valley between Selvole and Brolio where Chianti Classico was born 300 years ago.
Of the 16 hectares of vineyards that Selvole cultivates, half have recently been planted at very high density with Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Selvole has been owned by Guido Busetto and Nobuko Hashimoto since 1999. Their passion for quality wine dates back to their time living in France, where Guido was a correspondent for the economic daily, Il Sole 24 Ore. There, they both studied at the Institute of Oenology of the University of Bordeaux.
After 25 years of active journalism and a good knowledge of vineyard and cellar management, purchasing a prestigious company and managing it directly seemed like a natural step.
