Cantina di Santa Croce- Winery with Huge Winemaking Capacity and Team
Cantina di Santa Croce was founded in Carpi (MO) in 1907 as an association of grapes producers from the territory of S. Croce and its neighbors. The strong identity of the first members was built around the local vine, which gives its name to Lambrusco Salamino di S. Croce with a protected designation of origin. Today the Winery of Santa Croce has over 250 members and has a processing capacity equal to 170,000 quintals of grapes per year.
The winery has a historic estate, and wine production takes place here with trusted traditions and advanced technology.
Grape varieties
All of their grapes are sourced from their vineyards that have the IGP and PDO designations. The plain land is crossed by many rivers that make the soil soft and sandy ideal for growing high-quality grapes. The grapes that they grow are Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce, Lambrusco Grasparossa, Lambrusco di Sorbara, and Pignoletto. Their range of wines have red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. All the work in the vineyards and the cellar are done carefully.
Vineyards Generating Ecological Balance
The vineyards grow with the semi-Bellussi and Bellussi system and are harvested manually. The manual work reduces the amount of energy required and preserves the ecological balance. Grapes undergo various quality checks before further processing. Cantina di Santa Croce’s range of wines includes the PDO Lambrusco, IGP Castle, Holy Cross, Historia, Sparkling, 100 Harvests, Pignoletto, etc. All these wines have a rich, fruity taste that genuinely shows the qualities of their special terroir and great winemaking techniques.
