A Thorough Wine Tour of Kartli
At 9 in the morning, you will be picked up at the hotel, with our driver and a guide.
Firstly visit Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli cathedral, both UNESCO world heritage sites, which are must-sees, while visiting Georgia.
Jvari is a 6th-century Christian monument situated on a high hill, overlooking the old capital - Mtskheta.
Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, (difficult to pronounce, right?) is the most important cathedral for Georgians, as it is believed there is kept the robe of Christ.
In the afternoon, we will visit Ateni village, near Gori. Here you will have local, homemade lunch accompanied by 3 types of Kartli wines:
Chinuri - white dry
Goruli Mtsvane - white dry
Tavkveri - red dry
If you feel adventurous, you can try local Chacha too!
After lunch, we will take you to another local winery, to try some more of Kartli wines:
Atenuri - white dry
Chinuri - white dry
Tavkveri - rose
Khidistauri - red dry
Before driving back to Tbilisi, upon your request, we can have a short visit to the Stalin museum (tickets can be purchased on the spot, or visit only the outside of the museum, where there is the old house and train wagon.)
Drive back to Tbilisi and say goodbye to your driver and guide, at the hotel.
Drop off at the hotel, should be before dinner time, so you can explore the city of Tbilisi on your own, in the evening.
**The price includes all the mentioned activities, except the Stalin museum ticket.
