  • Vermentino is a white, light-bodied wine with a pretty complex bouquet. The prima aromas may vary depending on the area of Sardinia but usually are those of grapefruit, citrus, almond and green apple. Vermentino is moderately fruity, has medium-low levels of sweetness, scores pretty high in acidity and has medium alcoholic levels.
  • Cannonau, the king of Sardinian wines is a full-bodied, very alcoholic red wine that is better tasted warm, to fully experience its bouquet. The main aromas are those of dark fruits, especially berries, plum and tobacco. Due to its ageing in oak casks, coffee and chocolate notes can also be perceived. This signature red wine features spicy earthy flavours.

The best time to visit wine tastings and tours in Sardinia is from April to June. It is this time of the year that you will be able to see the vine rows blooming in the vineyards around wine tastings and tours in Sardinia. In summer, Sardinia is very hot and since it’s one of the most popular and luxurious beach destinations in Italy, it gets very crowded.
