As a Sommelier and Wine & Culture Ambassador of the Rheingau, I organize events in my home region. In this role, and as official Ambassador of the Rheingau Monumente (Eberbach Monastery, Vollrads Castle, Johannisberg Castle) I offer exclusive tours to these prestigious wineries that have shaped German wine culture. I look forward to creating a personalized off er for you!
Born into a winemaking family that has been cultivating vines in the Rheingau since 1759 and ranks among the region’s leading estates as a member of the prestigious VDP association, I was introduced to the art of winemaking at an early age. After successfully completing my training as a winemaker, I pursued an international degree in business administration, during which I also brought my English and Spanish skills to a professional level.
Over the following 25 years, I worked for some of the world’s most renowned wine companies – including Gallo, Freixenet, the Robert Mondavi Winery, Constellation Brands, Accolade Wines, and, most recently Concha y Toro. These roles gave me the opportunity to travel extensively and gain deep insights into many of the world’s most important wine regions, especially in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, and California.
I deepened my wine knowledge by earning the WSET Diploma in Wines & Spirits and spent nearly ten years studying at the Institute of Masters of Wine in London. In 2018, I completed the official training as a Cultural and Wine Ambassador of the Rheingau, and in 2024, I became a certified city tour guide in Wiesbaden. Today, I have the great pleasure of welcoming guests from around the world – combining in-depth wine knowledge with local culture and warm hospitality.
What matters most to me is making the complex world of wine accessible and engaging. My international experience enables me to draw parallels with other wine regions to explain concepts in a vivid and relatable way.
The Rheingau, with its rich and influential history, has played a formative role in shaping German wine culture. Concepts such as Spätlese and Kabinett, the development of Erstes Gewächs and Großes Gewächs, and even the invention of alcohol-free wine, all originated here.
The three historic estates Schloss Johannisberg, Schloss Vollrads, and Kloster Eberbach are not only iconic wine producers, but also places full of stories and anecdotes worth telling – naturally, always accompanied by a glass of wine.
As the only officially accredited Cultural and Wine Ambassador for these three estates, united under the banner of “Rheingau Monumente,” I offer exclusive tours and customized programs – gladly including visits to other wineries in the region as well.
I look forward to your inquiry and to creating an unforgettable experience tailored to your wishes.
